The original New Balance 574 was a unique design for its era, a hybrid road/trail design that didn’t lean on visible technical features. The New Balance 57/40 approaches the hybrid concept with a few extra years’ worths of design developments to explore and create a new perspective on an iconic design.
New Balance’s green leaf standard: the upper is made of 50% or more recycled content. The leather that supports more responsible manufacturing through the Leather Working Group, and at least one midsole/outsole material contains a minimum of 3% bio-based or 5% recycled content.
